my little fighter

I want to start off by saying a huge thank you to everyone who has said a prayer, kept us in your thoughts and reached out to us in the past week asking how Asher is doing as I shared that we were starting a round of three weeks of tough appointments. I continue to be amazed by how many people love us and remain strong knowing that so many people are lifting us up each day.
I am not really in a great place to give an update, but I promised I would keep everyone in the loop as I received news, so here goes a quick one. This morning, Asher's condition was categorized as deteriorating and we are being admitted to Children's for long term monitoring as it has been decided that care at home is no longer his safest option. We are hopeful that being in a hospital setting with all his specialists close by that we will be able to get a better understanding of everything Asher's little body is going through and find a better way to help him. At this time, we have no idea how long we will be there.
As you can imagine, my heart is broken as we take this difficult step backwards. Seeing your kid in pain is indescribable and knowing that you can't take care of him in the way he needs is just devastating. Tomorrow I know I will be able to wake up and find the silver lining in all of this because that's what I do best, but today I am just sad.
So, once again, I am asking you to keep us all in your prayers. Asher, that he continues to be my little fighter and for his healing; me, for some much needed strength; his care team, that they can come together to figure out how to help him; and my family, who continues to take on my pain when I can't do it on my own.
